MY FIRST DIARY ENTRY OF 2026
Wow… just like that, it’s already been three months since 2026 started. How did that even happen?
Well, hello again, guys. It’s me. I haven’t written anything here since December last year. Honestly, I kept putting it off because for a while I wanted the whole page to stay about Chewy—my senior dog who passed away before the end of last year. I still miss her a lot. I’m really sentimental like that. I didn’t want to replace her on the main page of my website.
But months have already flown by. Very meaningful months at that.
So here’s a whirlwind recap of the past three months.
January: I finally released my book. Crazy, I know… and I didn’t even talk about it here. It’s such a huge milestone that I probably should be talking about more, but to be honest, I was completely swamped with events—both in my personal life and my career. I had my book launch and signing event, and it was very successful. I was honestly really touched because a lot of the people I met through conventions chose to support that event. I won’t yap too much about it since I already made an hour-long video about everything. If you’re interested in watching that, I’ll link it below!
Then February came, and of course this month is all about love. I celebrated my wedding anniversary—well… on paper. Yes, on paper.
Because apparently we were late registering our marriage. Honestly, after going through the whole wedding ceremony, I thought it was already understood that we were married. Haha! But you still need to register it with the government and make it official.
We had our wedding ceremony on January 13, but we were officially married on paper on Valentine’s Day. We couldn’t think of another date that felt meaningful to us, so we chose that one. Very unique, right?
But jokes aside, February was also a month for resting and preparing for everything coming in March. My husband, the artist Yins, also celebrated his birthday before the month ended. It was very intimate. I also had this idea to make a video where we answer the same set of questions every year to see how much we’ve grown over time. I thought it was a really cute idea.
Then March arrived… and with it came convention season.
I actually applied for two events this month, but after last weekend I felt so sore and exhausted! I think it’s because I hadn’t done conventions in months. So I had to turn down the last one for the last week of March. But I don’t want to sound like I’m complaining—I’m genuinely grateful for the opportunity to meet everyone. I just realized… I’m not getting any younger. Haha!
The event I attended last weekend was Patrons of the Arts: Women’s Month 2026, celebrating women artists. I felt really happy being there because convention days are honestly my favorite way to connect with readers and supporters in person.
It was extra special this time because Eyes See You is finally available physically. And not just one release, but two! I also released my first one-shot manga, Peripheral. I was really excited to talk about it with everyone, so if you were one of the people who met me at the convention and listened to my pitch, thank you so much for your patience. I appreciate every single person who gives me their time—and especially those who support me by buying my work.
Honestly, I never imagined this would become my life after gaming. But I’m really glad I took the leap.
Speaking of games… did you know I actually started streaming again?
I stopped for two years, but I realized gaming is a huge part of my life. Completely stepping away from it didn’t really help me. Sure, it helped me focus on writing, but it didn’t give me an outlet.
Games—and interacting with viewers—helped me heal a lot back in 2020. If it weren’t for streaming, I probably wouldn’t even be here doing all of this. I also met the love of my life through a game, which makes it even more special.
So if you ever see me live, I stream on Twitch, Facebook, and sometimes TikTok too!
Recently, I was also invited to be one of the content creators for an event called Otaku Pop Fest. I’m really excited about this because there will be a lot of anime and manga exhibitors there. Being one of the sponsored creators means so much to me. I’m not huge by any means, but opportunities like this remind me that my dreams aren’t as far away as they used to feel.
Another thing I recently launched is my mail club called Red Letter.
The name is actually a little play on words.
First, it’s connected to Red, a character from my book. He’s known for track and field, but what most people don’t know is that he also works part-time as a mailman. Why? You’ll find out in the second book. 🥹
The second reason is the phrase “red-letter day.” In the song A Whole New World from Aladdin, it refers to a very special moment. That’s the feeling I’m hoping you get every time you receive a letter from me.
Inside the mail club package, I decided to include five things:
- Character of the Month – exclusive content you won’t find at my booth
- Recipe – a real food recipe that the character likes
- Author’s Note – basically a love letter from me to you
- Lore – worldbuilding from the Eyes See You universe
- Secret Penpal – this is the one I’m most excited about! Subscribers get paired with another member to write letters to each other.
I created this because I remember how lonely I felt during the two years I spent writing my book without streaming or playing games. I’ve learned the process now and I’m much faster at writing, but I still want to stay connected with everyone who supported my story from the very beginning.
Making something like this feels both meaningful and fun.
So if you’d like to subscribe, here’s the link to the Mail Club:
I think that’s enough catching up for now. I’m really glad I finally sat down and wrote all of this. I feel very blessed to have a way to stay connected with all of you.
And if you made it all the way to the end of this post—thank you. I’m always grateful to every single person who helped make all of this possible.
